The National Journalists Union (NJU) is a pioneering organization dedicated to safeguarding the rights, welfare, and professional standards of journalists across the nation. Established under the esteemed provisions of the Trade Union Act of 1926 and governed by the Central Trade Union Regulations of 1938, NJU has been a steadfast advocate for the journalism profession for decades.

Our History

Founded on May 3 2017, NJU emerged in response to the pressing need for a unified voice to represent the interests of journalists amidst the dynamic landscape of media and journalism. Since our inception, we have tirelessly worked to uphold the principles of press freedom, journalistic integrity, and the rights of media professionals.

Our Mission

At NJU, our mission is clear and resolute:

About the Founder:

Dr K. Kumar, the founder of the National Journalists Union (NJU), is a seasoned journalist with 10 years of experience in the industry. Throughout his career, he has witnessed firsthand the challenges facing journalists, including threats to press freedom, precarious working conditions, and attacks on journalistic integrity.

Motivated by a commitment to uphold the principles of truth, transparency, and accountability in society, Dr K. Kumar envisioned NJU as a platform to empower journalists, advocate for their rights, and promote a culture of solidarity within the profession. He brings to the role a deep understanding of the media landscape, a passion for social justice, and a dedication to serving the interests of journalists across the nation.
